Cirque du Soleil
I did this digital collage for a challenge for one of the yahoo groups I belong to. I won first place with this image which is only the 2nd digital collage I have ever done. I used images from the Commedia'dell arte and Carnevale to create the collage. In particular, I used the character harlequin (since the topic was Circus, Clowns, and Jesters) as he was the clown from the Commedia dell'arte. It was the first time I had ever entered anything in a contest/challenge. Eventually I am going to print this on canvas to create a sort of giclee.
Vase, Mask, and Candle
This is a drawing we had to convert from black and white to color. I used soft pastels and pastel pencils to do my drawing.

Another picture done in white and black charcoal which was shown in a student exhibit.
Bleeding Hearts
This drawing done in charcoal (white and black) was a study in light vs. dark. I usually do portraits and figures so I decided to do something different. This piece was in a special student exhibit.
August Catch Up
Well, it has been a while since I posted but I have been very busy. My son graduated from high school in June. We also attended the band banquet and my son received his plaque for having been in band (Marching and Concert) for 4 years. He got his final report card with 3 A's and 1 B+. He is registered for college and is going to major in Marine Geology. This appears to be a very interesting field and is one of the few programs not impacted at the local college. Here is a picture of him performing during Marching season. I have also included a picture of him at graduation.
I'm back
Well, I haven't posted for a while since I have been in school. I am taking the summer off since I am just plain tired. Drop back again soon as I will have more things to post.
