Checking in

I haven't posted in forever but I have been busy. I am training to be a docent at the Timken Museum of Art in Balboa Park. The Timken has a fabulous collection (including a Rembrandt) so if you are in San Diego come and check it out. Once a month I get together with my Artist Trading Card group to exchange trading cards.....our January theme is bell peppers. I am thinking of hand drawn, pen and ink, and painting them with watercolors. Once a month we have a meeting of the Zentangle group where our imperious leader teaches us new techniques.

I am working on a lot of needlework with a project from Shari Jones of Patricks Woods, finishing a Merry Cox piece (Le Nouveau Palais Royale), a Betsy Morgan piece (the sampler casket etui), a number of classes by Jackie du Plessis (presentation tray) and finally the biggest project I have ever undertaken, a Cabinet of Curiosities with Tricia Wilson Nguyen of Thistle Threads. The Cabinet of Curiosities is a needlework casket and is an 18th month course. My casket will be completely designed by me but I haven't started on any of my panels yet as I am still working on my theme. Tricia has included several projects and I have just started on the first project which is Elizabethan glove. I have done all of the silk embroidery and have just started on the gold work background. I will post an image when I have finished the glove.

I still am beading and use beads in as many classes as I can :). Well, I am done with my blurb right now but I will post again soon.

Zentangles

My new passion! Aren't these fun? The tangles I used were: yincut, crescent moon, tipple, meet, drupe, hollibaugh, zander, flux, and marasu.
